One’s Heart Needs the Ocean

I was speaking with a friend today online, and she said something about moving closer to the sea fairly soon. I congratulated her, as I am of the firm belief that the ocean is an important component of sanity and survival. As much as I admire the landlocked, well… I believe they just haven’t had a chance to spend much time by the ocean. If you have the chance this summer, I suggest you do so. It will be worth it. Every heart needs the ocean. photo & caption by [ c. e. p. ] Corissa HauryRidiculous, curious, most likely […]

Maine

Forested avenues line the city’s neighborhoods. Trees in summer hang over brick sidewalks, dipping passersby in New England charm and cool shadow. Duplexes of brick, with old tall pointed roofs and many windows, sit on State Street; they have been in the neighborhood since the 1700s. The hill slopes downward, into the land and away from the sea, down off the highest streets toward the park’s edge, where the glistening fountain waits there. Mankind lives amongst the stars…

New job!

Hello, all! I’m quite excited to announce that over the last few weeks, my previous internship transitioned into a full-time position at Dream Local Digital! I was able to meet the whole crew on February 11, 12, and 13th during a great “Dream Team” Summit last week. It was refreshing to be in a room full of people that not only got along with one another, but were able to share ideas and brainstorm in a healthy way. We spent 3 days getting to know one another and coming up with spectacular new ideas for our company. Dream Local Digital […]

Writing Today

It feels good to start the new year off writing, that’s for sure. I didn’t think that I would be able to jump back in so quickly, but it’s always that initial hour push that gets me going. I’m glad I started working on A’s story again. He needs to be written; his story is screaming at me from the inside, trying to get written out. Anyways, Marceline was as usual my little companion. I’m using a typewriter again because it’s easier for me not to “edit” myself… That is, you can’t backspace on a typewriter. All right, enough distraction. […]

Early Moosemas

Yes, we call it Moosemas. Because of the Great White Moose… Whom I shall tell you more about some day after I’ve drawn a good example of him. In any case, I am completely spoiled. Not only did N decide to procure us the most wonderful portable little turntable, he managed to get one that has all 3 speeds, digital input and output, and its own stereo speaker set. He went to great lengths to make sure he wasn’t spending too much on a “surprise” gift, which he promptly gave to me after we got home from our various Moosemas […]
